What property modifications will keep down pigeon populations?

Unfortunately, pigeons come with many territories, particularly city locations. While you may never be able to be completely free of pigeons, there are some things you can do to discourage them from visiting. First, look at your property itself. Do you have food sources? Pigeons will be drawn to berry bushes, gardens, and even outdoor seating areas. If you can eliminate the food around your home, this is the first step. Next, look at your buildings. Pigeons love to perch and are looking for high places to roost. If you can install bird spikes or electric strips on some of your exterior areas, this will deter birds from landing and sticking around. In addition to this, you can protect outdoor areas from pigeons by installing bird netting. While this won't always protect you from bird droppings, it will prevent pigeons from flying into the spaces where you have access to food.
